About The Position

As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with our orthopedic physicians to provide exceptional care to our patients. The Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting the supervising physician in the medical management of patients assigned to their practice. Time will be divided between the clinic, administrative tasks centered on patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education required; Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or a related field from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of PA experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic conditions and treatments
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously under the supervision of a physician.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working relationship with other Steadman Clinic and hospital personnel in involved in patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • Registered and licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Current DEA number required.
  • Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with attending physician to conduct patient assessments and help develop treatment plans for orthopedic conditions
  • Performs administrative tasks for the assigned practice.
  • Performs initial interview and assessment of patient.
  • Performs procedures within the PA scope of practice as directed by the supervising physician in the clinic.
  • Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions and treatment options
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with patients, families, key decision-makers, facility and department staff, and collaborating physicians
