About The Position

Will assess patients in clinic and in the inpatient setting. Accurately chart history and care plan in electronic medical record (EMR) closing encounters within the time guidelines set forth by Self Medical Group and Self Regional Healthcare Administration. Orders testing and makes referrals, completing all EMR generated tasks and assisting care team in achieving Meaningful Use measures. Promotes patient use of MyChart for patient-provider communication. Assist Cardiothoracic Surgeon in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, and established Self Regional Healthcare, Self Medical Group, and Medical/Physician Assistant/Procedures/Protocols and Standards of Care. Performs all other assigned duties per Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Practice Manager, and Self Medical Group Administration.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited PA program
• Completion of the National Certification Committee of Physician Assistants surgical residency
• NCCPA National Certification Exam completion and passing
• Current licensure
• Clinical expertise
• Leadership and organizational ability
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others
• Must be self-motivated
• Must have significant practice experience in private practice or institutional setting
