Part time, 30 hours Experience preferred If you are passionate about procedure and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments you will love the world of interventional Radiology (IR) where you will perform minimally invasive image guided procedures independently and be a critical part of a patients care team along the entire continuum of their IR procedural journey. You will be involved in all aspects of care, from the new consult visits in clinic conducting consults and explaining risks/benefits, to supporting them post procedure through inpatient rounding, then see them at their follow up visit to assess treatment response, and triaging any issue that might arise throughout their experience with IR. You’ll work side by side with interventional radiologists as part of a care team and collaborate with nurses, technologists, medical assistance, trainees, referring providers, etc. You will work primarily at Newton Wellesley hospital, with a few shifts at MGH throughout the year, and get the experience of training at MGH/Salem/NWH to get exposure to various IR practice settings and meet various IR APP team members. Job Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Physician Assistant required
  • Physician Assistant, MA
  • Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
