Physician Assistant

This is an open continuous announcement for internal applicants. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Applications will remain on file until December 31, 2025. The position is a (100%) Full Time clinical position. The scope of practice for the Physician Assistant will be determined based on the hiring service line's need as determined by the Service Chief. These services will be rendered in a thoughtful, resourceful and effective manner consistent with VA policies and with the highest standards of medical care. Such activities include, but are not limited to diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, placement of referrals, performing patient histories and physical in clinic or by virtual modalities, care coordination between service lines, ordering diagnostic studies and imaging, and communication with patients and/or their appropriate surrogates regarding findings and management plans. In addition, the incumbent will also provide service to patients as needed to ensure continuity of care when other providers are absent. The Physician Assistant will further support the VA mission thru participation in applicable VA national, VISN, and local quality process improvement initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to Performance Measures & Monitors, and Systems Redesign/Advanced Clinical Access. The incumbent will work with supervisory and front-line staff in his/her own and other service lines to foster and improve operations.
