About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant to join their Transplant Surgery Team. Responsibilities include first assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures and consults. The Physician Assistant will work in collaboration with a number of surgeons and multidisciplinary providers covering Transplant Surgery patients. Role: Open to Physician Assistants. Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102. Setting: Inpatient, transplant surgery. Schedule: Per diem. Premium differentials offered. Call schedule: No call. Physician Assistants Role Scope: Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant
  • 1+ years' experience in a surgical setting
