South College is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual for the position of Clinical Coordinator within the School of Physician Assistant Studies at our Asheville, NC campus. This role is integral to our mission of transforming the lives of our students and ensuring they receive the highest quality education in healthcare. The Clinical Coordinator will join an experienced clinical team and will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of clinical sites and preceptors, which are essential for the practical training of our students. The Clinical Coordinator will engage in regular travel throughout Western North Carolina, approximately 1-2 days a week, to recruit new clinical sites and conduct initial and ongoing site visits. This position requires coordination of student placements at various clinical sites, advising both students and preceptors on clinical rotation schedules, requirements, and expectations. Monitoring student progress during clinical rotations is a key responsibility, as is providing constructive feedback to both students and preceptors to ensure a high standard of clinical education. In addition to site management, the Clinical Coordinator will assist in the development and coordination of the clinical curriculum, instructing students during both the clinical and didactic phases of the program. Assessing student performance during clinical rotations, including end-of-rotation evaluations and clinical summative activities, is also a critical function of this role. The Clinical Coordinator will maintain and review scheduling of Exxat logs and assist the Director of Clinical Education in preparing documentation for accreditation reviews. Furthermore, participation in student advising, admissions, and various committees is expected, contributing to the overall success and compliance of the program.
