About The Position

Physician Assistant (PA) in Williamstown, KY As we continue to grow, we are looking for “SNF-ists,” in-house physician assistants that will provide care for the geriatric population in a Skilled Nursing and/or Assisted Living setting. What You Will Do As the SNF-ist, you will act as a Skilled Nursing Facility’s leading provider of internal medicine services. You will collaborate with the facility’s interdisciplinary team and physicians, serving as a day-to-day clinical leader while helping oversee the care of all the facility’s residents. You will work with the entire facility’s patient population - short and long-term residents - overseeing their day-to-day care with the assistance of the facility’s nursing staff and guidance from the facility’s medical directors and attending physicians. As a SNF-ist, you will provide types of care, including but not limited to: Be comfortable and proficient with documentation and appropriate coding Evaluation of new-admission visits Coordination of discharge visits Monthly stability visits for long term residents Evaluations for patients exhibiting changes in condition Advanced Care Planning

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Licensure (PA) with an applicable state license
  • Must have an active license and DEA #
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and their loved ones
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership experience with emphasis on teamwork in a healthcare setting
  • Master’s degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one-year experience in a Skilled Nursing setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with attending physicians and/or specialists regarding patient care
  • Be comfortable and proficient with documentation and CPT coding
