About The Position

Southern Pain and Spine is a leading interventional pain management practice serving North Georgia and Metro Atlanta. Our board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers deliver personalized, minimally invasive treatments focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and improving quality of life. We are known for compassionate, patient-centered care and a collaborative clinical environment. We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our interventional pain management team. This role offers hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting with strong physician collaboration and training support. You will practice at the top of your license while developing advanced skills in pain management and procedural care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current Georgia PA license (or ability to obtain)
  • NCCPA certification
  • DEA license (active and unrestricted)
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Comfortable with medication management and prescribing
  • Willingness to learn interventional procedures and imaging interpretation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar EMR systems
  • Ability to travel between Gainesville and Jasper clinics

Nice To Haves

  • Pain management experience preferred but not required (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, and documentation
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies (X-rays, MRI/CT, ECGs, lab work)
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans and follow-up care
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with Georgia regulations and clinic protocols
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, preventive care, and wellness topics
  • Maintain accurate outpatient medical records and reports
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as joint injections, trigger point injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management
  • Assist physicians with interventional and emergency procedures
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and consult with supervising physicians as needed
  • Work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
