About The Position

EliteCare Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) settings. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients in the ICU and telemetry floor, as well as operative experience assisting surgeons during cardiac procedures.

Requirements

Current certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
Acute Care Certification or First Assistant Certification is required.
CVOR experience is mandatory, with specific skills in radial artery and endoscopic vein harvesting.
Recent operative experience in CABG with EV harvesting or valve replacements is essential.
Candidates who have transitioned to congenital heart surgeries or transplants with no recent experience in CABG will not be considered.
RNFA certification required for Nurse Practitioners specializing in CVOR.

Nice To Haves

Previous management of post-op cardiothoracic surgery patients.
Experience with hemopro systems for harvesting procedures.
ICU and step-down management proficiency.

Responsibilities

Serve as the First Assistant in Surgery, providing support to surgeons during cardiovascular procedures.
Manage post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients in ICU and telemetry units.
Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and open radial artery harvesting.
Conduct office visits for patient assessments and follow-ups.
Enter and maintain patient data in relevant databases (e.g., STS).
Participate in ICU procedures, including but not limited to chest tube insertions and central line placements.
Willingness to receive training for these procedures is essential.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
