About The Position

We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Family Medicine care team. This role manages common acute and chronic health conditions and functions as an interdependent member of the healthcare team through direct patient care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral. The PA practices to the full scope of licensure in accordance with State and Federal laws and supports TFHC’s Patient-Centered Medical Home model.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program (pediatric and adult medicine focus)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid and unencumbered State of Florida PA license
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse social, economic, and ethnic populations
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities
  • Preceptor and mentoring capabilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and service excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of Physician Assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare through health promotion, illness prevention, and health restoration
  • Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and medical diagnoses
  • Order, review, and interpret radiographic and laboratory tests; provide consultation as needed
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and follow-up care
  • Provide consultation to patients, families, and interdisciplinary care team members
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and illness prevention strategies
  • Actively participate in daily care team huddles
  • Mentor and serve as a preceptor to PA, APRN, and nursing students
  • Float throughout the organization as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to close care gaps
  • Ensure patient rights, privacy, dignity, and safety are maintained
  • Promote teamwork and positive public relations with patients and the community
  • Comply with HIPAA, State, Federal, HRSA, and TFHC regulations
