About the position
The position involves examining and treating patients independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The role ensures proper care for illnesses and injuries, as well as disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The candidate will rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks including patient assessment, writing orders, facilitating treatment, and collaborating with the care team to achieve patient treatment goals. A strong knowledge of various concepts, practices, and procedures in the field is essential.
Responsibilities
- Examine and treat patients independently and in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
- Plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgment.
- Perform patient assessments and write orders.
- Facilitate treatment and collaborate with the care team to achieve patient treatment goals.
Requirements
- Current State of California Physician Assistant License
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
- Clinical Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies OR Five (5) years of Cardiology PA experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Six (6) months of experience in Cardiology, Critical Care or Emergency
Nice-to-haves
- One (1) year of experience in Cardiology or Critical Care
- One (1) year of experience using EMR (Patient Keeper, Meditech, Allscripts)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
