About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to join our Interventional Radiology team. The advanced practice provider will work in collaboration with interventional radiologists to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. The PA/ARNP will be responsible for performing independent patient assessments, performing image-guided procedures, and coordinating care before, during, and after interventions. Requirements

  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP).
  • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
  • Applicable certification from a recognized certifying organization such as the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
  • Applicable experience as defined by position leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Evaluation & Management Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations for inpatient consults, pre-procedural assessments, and post-procedure follow-ups. Formulate differential diagnoses, develop management plans, and provide patient education regarding IR procedures and expectations.
  • Procedures Perform select image-guided procedures within the scope of practice and credentialing, such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, arthrograms, FNA, GI/GU fluoroscopy, venous access
  • Care Coordination Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies relevant to IR cases. Communicate and collaborate effectively with referring physicians, nursing staff, technologists, and other members of the care team. Facilitate scheduling and optimization of patients for procedures, including management of anticoagulation and pre-procedure preparation.
  • Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including consult notes, history and physicals, and procedural notes. Ensure adherence to institutional policies, regulatory standards, and quality/safety initiatives.
  • Proficiency in performing procedures including (but not limited to) thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, arthrograms, FNA, GI/GU fluoroscopy, venous access
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to imaging.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
