The Physician Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This Physician Assistant will be working both outpatient (50%) and inpatient (50%) rounding/consults. This Physician Assistant will be well versed in general orthopedic care, working as a team with 14 other Physician Assistants; ability to cross cover to all orthopedic subspecialties expected. Job duties include surgical 1st assist, independent run outpatient clinic, and inpatient rounds/consults. On call responsibilities shared between 14 other PAs, covering 2 hospitals. Schedule: Monday - Friday Call required: 1/14 weekends, 1-2 days per month some nights/weekends/holidays Essential Functions: Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population. Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise. Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise. Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care. Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
