About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and team-oriented Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice, working closely with a spine surgeon and supporting general orthopedic services. This full-time position includes responsibilities in the operating room, clinic, and hospital setting, providing comprehensive care to orthopedic patients across the continuum of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current PA-C certification
  • Active (or eligible) state licensure
  • BLS/ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required; new graduates with strong interest in orthopedics encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic setting under physician supervision
  • Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and postoperative care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • First assist in orthopedic surgeries, including spine and general orthopedic procedures
  • Perform surgical closures, wound care, and post-operative evaluations
  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient management
  • Round on inpatient orthopedic and spine patients
  • Manage post-operative care, including pain control, discharge planning, and coordination with care teams
  • Respond to patient needs in collaboration with the supervising physician
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in call rotation as assigned
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and practice policies
