The Ortho-Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides care for patients who have experienced traumatic injuries while playing a crucial role in the assessment, stabilization, and management of trauma patients. These conditions may be addressed in the emergency department, trauma department, operating room, or patient unit. The APP may perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures independently while collaborating with physician colleagues with appropriate credentialing for privileges. The APP will collect data and assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patients under their care, including rapid primary and secondary surveys to identify, manage, and prioritize interventions. The APP is responsible for patient advocacy in the medical care system, serving as an advisor and liaison between patients and physicians. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Depending on the discipline of the APP - appropriate state administrative codes and AtlantiCare Bylaws, Rules and Regulations will apply and could vary in that discipline (NP v. PA).
