About The Position
Orthopedic Physician Assistant-Orthopedic Full-time Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner position. Independent health clinic. Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC (GLO ) is a multi-specialty group with three locations. Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout Northwest Indiana and beyond. Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Physician Assistant. Work independently, with physician oversight. This position is 100% clinic based, however, in the future you may assist in surgery. There is an outstanding, experienced support staff. Do you have compassion and a passion to help others? You will diagnose conditions, create treatment plans, and prescribe medications as related to the treatment plan. Responsibilities include: Formulate a diagnosis from assessments conducted within the clinic setting. Examine and diagnose patients and develops treatment plans. Document treatment plans in the medical record. Collaborate with physician and documents physician guidance as needed. Coordinate care for patients. Provide comprehensive and continuing medical care for patients. Initiate requests for laboratory tests and x-rays, as appropriate. Prepare and document appropriate history, physical examinations and diagnosis. Initiate requests for tests and imaging as appropriate. Prescribe medications, as appropriate. Requirements
- Physician Assistant license from Indiana.
- Basic Life Support, certified by American Heart Association
- 2+ years relevant clinical experience preferred; will consider recent graduates.
- Ability to communicate with patients, primary care team members and management staff
- Ability to make care decisions based on best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physician
- Basic technical proficiency in the use of computer programs for medical records or internet search for clinical practice
- Advanced assessment and treatment plan implementation skills
- Ability to complete clinical care lifting in a provider office environment
