About The Position

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and patient-focused Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a part-time basis at our Spring, TX clinic. This role requires a minimum commitment of four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, including occasional weekends and holidays based on clinic needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable caring for patients of all ages.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (PA or NP)
  • Active DEA registration
  • NCCPA certification (Physician Assistant) or ANCC/AANP certification (Nurse Practitioner)
  • Nurse Practitioners must be board-certified to treat all age groups (Family Nurse Practitioner)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s degree in Nurse Practitioner studies
  • Active BLS certification
  • Comfortable treating patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Availability to work a minimum of four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, including occasional weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (training provided at no cost)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiologist over-read
  • Suturing experience
  • Previous experience in urgent care, emergency department fast-track, or walk-in medical clinic settings

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with clinical best practices in an urgent care and/or occupational health setting
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care aligned with NextCare’s mission and values
  • Communicate treatment plans and follow-up instructions clearly to patients
  • Document care accurately using the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Take responsibility for appropriate coding and billing for services rendered
  • Maintain clinical productivity consistent with peers and industry standards
  • Follow up on patient care as clinically indicated
  • Practice medicine ethically, legally, and professionally
