About The Position

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care to urgent care patients at our Golden, Colorado location. This is a part-time opportunity in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Colorado medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • NCCPA certification (Physician Assistant) or ANCC/AANP certification (Nurse Practitioner)
  • Nurse Practitioners must be certified to treat all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
  • Active BLS certification
  • Comfortable treating patients of all ages
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
  • DOT certification may be required; if not currently certified, NextCare will provide training at no cost
  • Part-time position in a high-volume urgent care setting; clinic hours vary by location
  • Minimum of 4 shifts per month required
  • Shifts are typically 10–12 hours, depending on clinic needs and day of the week
  • Schedules are coordinated in advance to support flexibility while ensuring appropriate clinic coverage
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends and holidays; frequency depends on facility assignment and scheduling needs
  • Assigned a primary (home) clinic in Golden, CO
  • Occasional floating to nearby NextCare clinics may be required to support coverage needs

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of urgent care, ER fast-track, or walk-in clinic experience
  • Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiologist over-read
  • Suturing and minor procedural skills
  • For Physician Assistants: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and treating patients in accordance with clinical best practices in an urgent care and/or occupational health setting
  • Providing compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care consistent with NextCare’s mission and values
  • Treating all patients who present to the clinic and clearly communicating diagnoses, treatment plans, and next steps
  • Documenting care accurately using the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Taking personal responsibility for appropriate coding and billing for care rendered
  • Delivering exemplary care while practicing in a legal and ethical manner
  • Maintaining clinical productivity consistent with peers and industry standards
  • Following up on patient care as clinically indicated
