About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. For Nurse Practitioner's - Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission For Physician Assistant's , successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Requirements

For Nurse Practitioner's - Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
For Physician Assistant's , successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant
Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Nice To Haves

Two years nursing experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
