About The Position

UCHealth's Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner First Assist for our Level I Trauma Center at the Medical Center of the Rockies. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, work well in a team environment as well as autonomously, and be comfortable balancing multiple tasks. Requirements

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Colorado.
• Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner Certification from an accredited body.
• Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe medications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization.
• Two years of trauma surgery experience or completion of a surgical fellowship (preferred).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Familiarity with advanced surgical techniques.
• Leadership experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trauma and acute care surgeries as a first assist.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team and patients.
• Balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain prescriptive authority and provide patient care as needed.
