UCHealth Medical Group and Sangre de Cristo Surgical Associates located in Pueblo, Colorado are ready to welcome a board-eligible/certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to their team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, interested in working full-time and focused on excellent patient care. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado.
  • Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the relevant certifying body.
  • Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
  • Eligible to provide services reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
  • Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

  • Previous surgical experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off with 10-hour shifts, promoting an excellent work-life balance.
  • Collaborative Work Environment: Rotates with one other APP during the daytime shift, ensuring shared responsibility and team-based care.
  • Role Split: 70% inpatient/trauma acute care and 30% outpatient clinic responsibilities.
  • Surgical Experience Preferred: Previous surgical experience is beneficial but not required; willing to train the right candidate.
  • Mentorship and Training: Benefit from working closely with seasoned surgeons eager to share their knowledge and provide hands-on training.
