About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Surgical Critical Care team! The Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are an essential part of the multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care for complex surgical and trauma patients in the ICU. The patient population includes complex trauma, transplant, vascular, general surgery, neurosurgery, interventional radiology and other critical care patients as the service needs dictate.

Requirements

• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible).
• Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• ICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine physical examinations.
• Formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with the physician(s) and care team members.
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols.
• Identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician.
