Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Interventional Radiology department. The APP will assist with pre-procedure patient evaluation and preparation including reviewing pertinent labs and imaging, completing H&Ps, consents, and collaborating with staff to expedite patient care. Complete inpatient rounding, inpatient and outpatient consults in collaboration with interventional radiologists, order pertinent labs, imaging, and follow-up, and document plan in medical record. Provide follow-up care including follow-up phone calls, answering patient and family questions and concerns, and coordinate care with other providers to optimize patient care. Outpatient vein center evaluation and seeing patients. Procedural: Assist with interventional radiology procedures as directed by IR, including, but not limited to: Thoracentesis under ultrasound guidance, Paracentesis under ultrasound guidance PICC placement and exchange with ultrasound and/or fluoroscopic guidance. Prescribing and supervising conscious sedation. Placement, exchange, and removal of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters including implanted ports. Lumbar puncture and myelography under fluoroscopic guidance. Injection, exchange, and removal of drainage catheters including abscess drains, gastrostomy tubes, nephrostomy tubes, and cholecystostomy tubes. This position is mostly inpatient with some outpatient. Schedule: M-F, 4x10s (day off TBD) no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call
