UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support their team in Harrisburg, PA! Hours: Monday-Friday, daylight hours. The option of 8- or 10- hour shifts. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required! Location: UPMC Harrisburg Medical Sciences Pavillion - 4300 Londonberry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 Position Specifics: 90%25 outpatient clinic, 10%25 inpatient. This position will provide primarily outpatient hematology/oncology consultation in the Harrisburg area, with minor inpatient rounding requirements within our service line at our 3 local Harrisburg area hospitals. CRNPs are expected to obtain their advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner certification (AOCP) within 3 years of hire. Previous experience in hematology/oncology is preferred but not required. Department Details: UPMC Central PA provides a unique opportunity to work with the world-renowned Hillman Cancer Center, while maintaining point of care as close to home as possible. We have 3 hospitals within the Harrisburg area- West Shore Hospital, Harrisburg Hospital, and Community Osteopathic Hospital and 2 outpatient oncology offices within the Harrisburg area. All of our cancer center APPs report directly to a supervising APP. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.
