About The Position

The position involves assessing patient health status, including wellness and compliance with care plans, and determining appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The role includes providing both acute and chronic patient care, which encompasses taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, monitoring therapies, administering injections and medications, and suturing wounds. Additionally, the position requires triaging patient calls, evaluating patient problems, and responding to emergencies, including the use of CPR. Documentation of patient information and care provided is essential, as is maintaining department statistics and using a computer to access and enter necessary data. Educating patients and families is also a key responsibility, ensuring continuity of care, and consulting with other staff as necessary while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • BA/BS, MS preferred.
  • Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program or approved nurse practitioner program.
  • Minimum of one-year experience as physician assistant, preferably in clinic setting.
  • Or minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
  • Maintain valid PA license for the state of North Carolina, certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • CPR certification as required.
  • Or maintain valid RN license for state of North Carolina.
