About The Position

Unique opportunity for an APP to work in the operating room at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital! Hours will flex between 7-17:30, no weekends. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be assisting in surgery and closing. First Assisting experience is preferred. Wound closure experience is required. The Surgical PA or NP will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. APP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. NP or PA will work in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. First or second assist in surgical cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program
• Michigan state licensure
• Continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse
• Current ACLS or BLS certification
• Current ATLS/PALS provider status
