The position involves practicing professional nursing and medicine as delegated by and under the supervision of a physician. The role requires the application of specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills in accordance with accepted practice standards. Responsibilities include patient advocacy, initiation and performance of nursing and medical care, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of human diseases, pain, injuries, and health maintenance. The position also emphasizes the importance of patient education, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare teams.

  • Obtains a pertinent medical history and performs appropriate physical examinations.
  • Reviews relevant laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patients' medical, physical, psychological, and socio-economic status.
  • Formulates accurate and appropriate diagnoses based on collected data.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans aligned with the practice preferences of supervising physicians.
  • Performs procedures within the limits of expertise and in accordance with regulations and policies.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and health promotion.
  • Documents all examination data, diagnostic impressions, and patient care activities.
  • Conducts telephonic and virtual encounters as appropriate.
  • Manages assigned in-basket tasks and takes necessary actions in emergency situations.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities and peer review processes.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing for APNs or Bachelor's Degree for PAs.
  • Graduation from an accredited graduate nursing program or a program accredited by the ARC-PA.
  • Registered Nurse License (Colorado) and Nurse Practitioner certifications or Physician Assistant License (Colorado).
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • Must obtain and remain credentialed by the Colorado Permanente Medical Group by start date.
  • ACLS certification and procedural sedation competency required within 90 days of hire for positions requiring procedural sedation.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Must be an FNP or CNM.
  • Breastfeeding experience preferred.
  • Weekend availability required.
  • Position covers hospitals and performs home visits.
