About The Position

Temple's Neurology department is searching for an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the team! This role is under the Temple Faculty Practice division. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, delivers comprehensive medical care and care coordination across clinical specialties in collaboration with licensed physicians and healthcare teams. Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medical therapeutics, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, assisting in surgical procedures, and counseling patients on preventive care. The APP contributes to a safe, therapeutic, and inclusive environment that prioritizes patient-centered care, respecting each individual's age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture. All care is provided ethically, professionally, and in accordance with licensure guidelines and scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Bachelors Degree (for Physician Assistant)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (for Physician Assistant)
  • CRNP - PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner or NCCPA - Certified Physician Assistant
  • RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License or MPA-LIC - PA Medical Physician Asst Lic
  • BLS - Basic Life Support

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Years experience as a nurse practitioner
  • 4 years' experience as a physician assistant
  • 1 Year experience in a clinical specialty practice
  • 1 year outpatient/ambulatory experience
  • Experience in an EPIC environment
