About The Position

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Advanced Practicing Provider, either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to provide comprehensive clinical care in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role emphasizes collaboration with maternal fetal medicine physicians and involves working in various locations within the greater Cincinnati area. The position is focused on academic medicine and maternal fetal medicine, requiring a commitment to patient care, education, and research.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (for Physician Assistants).
  • Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority (for Physician Assistants).
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants).
  • Three (3) years nursing experience (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience is required (for Physician Assistants).

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with maternal fetal medicine physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Perform appropriate history and physical examinations for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the healthcare team in the delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making using evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in research and development projects for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Participate in the education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students, residents, and medical students.
