About The Position

Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Surgery Institute is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing cardiology practice in the Western Region - State College, Pennsylvania. The Advanced Practitioner will enjoy a combination practice of outpatient clinic in State College and inpatient consolations at the assigned base hospital. This position offers no call but will have rotating weekend coverage. This position allows for the option of 10-hour days. The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.

Requirements

• Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree-Business Administration/Management (Preferred)
• Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing BodyDefault Issuing Body
• Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse PractitionersAmerican Academy of Nurse Practitioners
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of PennsylvaniaRN_State of Pennsylvania
