About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their Neurology Team in Round Rock, Texas. This role involves providing direct patient care in a specialty clinic, focusing on quality and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will assess patient conditions, prescribe treatments, and develop comprehensive care plans in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
  • Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to develop and implement patient treatment plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Neurology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive examinations and medical histories.
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess patient health needs.
  • Prescribe and recommend medical therapies and perform procedures in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive, outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on assessments and evidence-based medicine.
  • Evaluate patient responses to healthcare provided and the effectiveness of care.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, health management, and nutrition.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Initiate timely consultations and referrals when necessary.
  • Manage patients in various healthcare settings beyond the primary clinic.
  • Perform invasive procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.
