New graduates are encouraged to apply! Summary Under the general supervision of our experienced Surgeons, you will provide extensive perioperative elective and emergent care to surgical patients. Through our Cross-Trained Model, you’ll gain direct First Assist experience in the OR across multiple services and subspecialties. Our stepwise training approach ensures strong mentorship and progressive responsibility—ideal for motivated Physician Assistants eager to build skill and confidence in a fast-paced setting. STATUS: Full Time DEPARTMENT: Department of Surgery SCHEDULE: Days; OR Call As part of our dynamic surgical team, you'll be exposed to a wide variety of surgical specialties, including: General Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Bariatric, Thoracic, Colo-Rectal, Orthopedics, Hand, ENT, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Urology, and Vascular.

Requirements

  • BS: Physician Assistant (Required)
  • PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with supportive team members on a daily basis.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Patient Satisfaction. Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.
  • Medication & Orders. Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of acute, critically ill patients.
  • Documentation. Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment
