Requirements

• Must demonstrate successful completion of Baccalaureate Degree or a minimum of two years of college in an accredited PA Education Program
• Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Maintain BLS/ACLS certifications
• Must work under the supervision of an M.D.
• A copy of the PA's Scope of Service must be on file at CIM and CarolinaEast Health System

Responsibilities

• Performing examinations
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic and screening tests
• Prescribing and ordering medication as appropriate for patients' medical conditions
• Referring patients for further care as clinically appropriate
• Reviewing and discussing the patient's medical record and medical plan with the supervising physician if there are questions about the management of a patient's medical condition
