TriHealth is actively recruiting for a Physician Assistant for the OR with our CTS service line. This position is a clinician with advanced education and clinical practice. Under direct physician supervision, as required by the State Medical Board, this position provides primary health care and case management, focusing on disease prevention, wellness, and management of minor, chronic, and acute illness in collaboration with the PCPs. This position also works in close collaboration to establish realistic goals and a thorough participant plan of care. Physician Practices/Senior Services: May manage patients by providing primary health care and case management, focusing on disease prevention, wellness, and management of minor, chronic, and acute illness. Provides holistic care, taking into account the needs and strengths of the whole person. Collaborates with clients and other interdisciplinary health care members to establish realistic goals and activities to guide both the client and the provider in implementing care.

  • Makes recommendations for continued development of new and/or existing services within program or department.
  • Promotes, supports and engages in projects and activities which will develop or improve service delivery.
  • Attends required and recommended internal and external meetings.
  • Performs medical evaluations and initial and follow-up injury/illness care; orders and interprets laboratory tests and examinations to determine treatment; orders treatment in conjunction with physician; follows the progress of the patients and makes changes in treatment as indicated.
  • Applies local anesthetic; examines and cleans wounds; incises and drains abscesses; sutures; makes appropriate legible records of findings during examinations to be reviewed and countersigned per department standards by the supervising physician.
  • Reviews reports relative to department/program/practice operations; participates in and assists with Quality Assurance processes; and demonstrates initiative in leading staff in quality of care issues.
  • Utilizes current 'Best Practices' (TriHealth approved) to develop and implement plans, monitor Progress, and measure outcomes for patients who are referred for Chronic Illnesses to include anticoagulation management.
  • Works with patients individually or in groups to promote and achieve effective symptom control and sustained attendance and productivity.
  • Coordinates activities with Attending Physicians and other Specialists in the Community.
  • May develop and present educational programs.
  • Promotes, supports, and engages in activities that will improve the overall health and well being of patients.
  • Works with management and Collaborating Physician to ensure practice is consistent with medical policy and professional standards.
  • Cooperates and participates in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice and the quality of care.
  • Participates in and assists with in-service and continuing education programs for patients, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and clinical staff.
  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • Graduate from an accredited PA or NP program (Required)
  • Internal/General Medicine, Cardiovascular Thoracic Disease
  • Registered Nurse - COMPACT (Multi-State) RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Upon Hire Required
  • Physician Assistant PA - Physician Assistant Upon Hire Required
  • Other APNG - Advanced Practice Nurse in Genetics Upon Hire Required
