We are seeking a skilled and motivated Surgical Nurse Practitioner PA-C to join our team. Position Summary MultiCare Health System is seeking a Colorectal Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant to join our well-established, thriving and comprehensive practice. Practicing within a National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC)-accredited program, you’ll work alongside colorectal surgeons and oncology teams to deliver personalized, evidence-based, and compassionate care.

Requirements

Licensed PA-C in Washington State (or eligible for licensure)
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Washington State Physician Assistant license by the time of employment
DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

First Assist experience or certification strongly preferred
Strong interest in surgical care and colon and rectal conditions

Responsibilities

Assist in surgical procedures in the operating room
Conduct and manage outpatient clinic visits
Provide pre- and post-operative care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team
Help establish workflows and best practices for a new specialty service line
First assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical exams.
Supports surgical oncologists in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to improved access, continuity, and outcomes for oncology patients.
On call for practice and ER as needed for the practice.
Independently manages hospital-based care and outpatients.
Has specialized training or practice focused on surgical oncology, colorectal training preferred.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with colorectal surgical oncologists.
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
Coordinates patient care with other specialties.
Supervises RN and MAs in the treatment of surgical patients.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and recovery.
Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Stay current with best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.
