Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Cardiology to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem . Harlem Hospital is a 282-bed hospital that provides a broad array of preventive, primary, and acute care services. Additionally, Harlem Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, complete with Trauma and elective Orthopedic Surgery. Opportunity Details : Weekday coverage for Cardiology Department: This position doesn’t require overnight or weekend call or coverage. Unique opportunity with both clinical and research work in an inpatient and outpatient setting, in addition to working with the cardiac electrophysiologist and running the pacemaker/device clinic ~once every other week. Participation in daily clinical activities including noninvasive diagnostic studies (including echo, stress test, cardiac monitoring), daily inpatient rounds and outpatient general cardiology clinic (two half days per week) and interacting with patients and providing clinical care under supervision of attending cardiologist. Collaborating with research project manager and study research coordinator as a clinician and assisting with patient screening and recruitment based on study protocols in various IRB-approved studies and federally funded clinical trials. Participation in research group meetings and involvement as study author in relevant publications and presentations (only if of interest to the candidate). Our group has a focus on congestive heart failure and cardiometabolic risk including obesity, diabetes and hypertension with multiple ongoing projects. Participation in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement projects and initiatives.
