About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to join a successful, well-established group of physicians. The role involves a 4:1 Medically Directed Staffing Model with 10 Anesthesiologists and 31 CRNAs. The schedule is Monday–Friday with no nights, weekends, or call, and no work on Sanford recognized holidays. This position offers an excellent work-life balance in a collaborative environment, with 10 weeks of vacation per year for a 1.0 FTE. Flexible employment options (full-time or part-time) are available to support the services of the Outpatient Surgery Center. The position is located in Western North Dakota, specifically in Bismarck, which is the capital city offering picturesque landscapes, a fast-growing community of over 135,000, and economic diversity. Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck is the region’s home for health care and has a Level II Trauma and Stroke Center, supported by over 230 Physicians and 170+ APPs.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing a fellowship log if just completed a fellowship
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are currently held, showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications, demonstrating active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing documentation of hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months if a quality profile is not available, demonstrating active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency/fellowship of at least 3-4 years’ duration in Anesthesia accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency training within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless waived by the appropriate governing Board

  • Performing history and physical examinations
  • Comprehensive management of patients of all ages rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical, obstetrical procedures
