About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks a full-time Allergy and Immunology Physician. Physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating allergy disorders and diseases of the immune system, including mast cell disorders, as well as immunologic disorders in both children and adults, with the latest treatment protocols, conventional immunotherapy, and monoclonals and immunosuppressants; educating patients and their family members about treatment options, prognosis, and diagnoses related to immunology and allergy conditions; counseling those with allergies regarding dietary choices; performing laboratory procedures, skin/patch testing and immunotherapy desensitization; coordinating medical care with other medical professionals through the use of a system-wide electronic medical record; meeting regularly with the immunotherapy staff to discuss cases and give instruction and guidance; and participating in continuing education courses, training activities, and additional learning opportunities. Physician will primarily treat patients at the Medical Group's outpatient clinic located at 538 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT 06790, but may also provide consultations to inpatients at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, located at 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT 06790.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or the foreign equivalent
  • Completion of a U.S. medical residency program in Internal Medicine and of a U.S. medical fellowship program in Allergy and Immunology Medicine
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine and in Allergy and Immunology Medicine
  • Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and treating allergy disorders and diseases of the immune system, including mast cell disorders, as well as immunologic disorders in both children and adults, with the latest treatment protocols, conventional immunotherapy, and monoclonals and immunosuppressants
