About The Position

We are seeking accomplished physicians to serve as Physician Advisors for Pre-Medical Advising and Mentorship within our exclusive Premium Multi-Year Undergraduate Program. In this role, you will act as the primary advisor and long-term mentor for a small, select cohort of highly motivated pre-med students (primarily freshmen and sophomores) who are committed to building exceptional medical school candidacies. This is a high-touch, longitudinal advising role focused on strategic planning, holistic mentorship, and individualized guidance—rather than tutoring or content delivery. You will partner closely with students over multiple years to help them make informed academic, extracurricular, and professional decisions that optimize their readiness for medical school.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree (required)
  • Experience with medical school admissions (e.g., admissions committee service, file review, interviewing, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of pre-med prerequisites, MCAT expectations, and AMCAS/AACOMAS processes
  • Demonstrated interest in mentoring and advising undergraduate students
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage a small caseload of students in a high-touch environment
  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed

Responsibilities

  • Academic & Pre-Med Advising Guide students through course selection and academic planning to ensure completion of pre-med prerequisites and maintenance of a competitive GPA
  • Develop personalized, multi-year academic and professional roadmaps aligned with each student’s goals and strengths
  • Provide strategies for navigating rigorous pre-med coursework and managing academic challenges
  • Pre-Med Career & Extracurricular Guidance Advise students on selecting and sequencing clinical, research, volunteering, and leadership experiences
  • Help students identify and pursue meaningful opportunities that demonstrate commitment to medicine
  • Support students in developing a cohesive and authentic narrative for their future applications
  • Medical School Admissions Strategy Apply your firsthand knowledge of medical school admissions to provide strategic, insider-level guidance
  • Advise on school selection, application timing, and overall competitiveness
  • Prepare students for interviews and other evaluative components of the admissions process
  • High-Touch Mentorship & Student Support Meet regularly with assigned students to monitor progress, address concerns, and refine plans
  • Provide encouragement, accountability, and perspective throughout the pre-med journey
  • Collaborate with other MedSchoolCoach specialists (MCAT tutors, writing advisors, research mentors, etc.) to ensure coordinated, comprehensive support
  • Program Contribution Contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of the Premium Multi-Year Undergraduate Program
  • Stay current on trends in medical education and admissions best practices
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
