About The Position

Ochsner Health System and Louisiana State University Health Science Center- Shreveport seek applicants for a Gastroenterology position in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. ERCP and EUS is welcomed but not required. MD/DO or foreign equivalent. Must be board certified/ board eligible in Gastroenterology and be eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure. Join our team with cutting-edge, patient-focused technology, strengthened by our medical school, and elevated research in North Louisiana. Work under the direction of Qiang Cai, MD, PhD, FASGE, MACG, Professor of Medicine, Director, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Clinical duties would require weekly teaching responsibilities in GI outpatient clinics, endoscopic procedures (on-site endoscopy center) and inpatient consult services. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of gastroenterological diseases, commitment to scholarly activity and clinical care. Currently, the gastroenterology section has 9 fellows and 8 faculty members. Highlights of the Position: Our health sciences center is home to the School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies and School of Allied Health Professions and a robust research enterprise. More than 800 students are enrolled in the degree programs at any one time. Additionally, nearly 600 residents and fellows are trained each year. Physician leadership and input at all levels of administration. Shreveport is an attractive, comfortable, small Southern city with excellent schools, restaurants and multiple cultural opportunities. This position: Combines teaching and patient care Emphasizes teaching and provides vitally important leadership and guidance to medical students and residents Weekly teaching responsibilities in GI OP clinics, endo procedures, (onsite endoscopy center). The Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana provides healthcare to more than 140,000 patients across North Louisiana with 600,000 clinic visits annually. There are more than 20 locations, including North Louisiana’s only Level I Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center at its acute care hospital, a newly renovated hospital with women's and children's services in Shreveport, La. and an acute care hospital in Monroe, La. designated as a Level III Trauma Center.
