About The Position

The position involves working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system. Responsibilities include conducting exams, writing evaluations and reports, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, managing medication, completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated, and making referrals for specialized care or treatment. The role requires performing duties in accordance with the scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews, is also expected. Additionally, the position may require providing or sharing responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed, with the provision of on-call services included as part of the normal job duties without extra compensation. Engagement in collaborative agreements may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Certificate to practice medicine in the state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code
