About The Position

Physician – Addiction Medicine (Full or Part-Time) East Liberty Family Health Care Center (ELFHCC) is a compassionate, mission‑focused Federally Qualified Health Center serving diverse communities across four Pittsburgh locations. We are seeking a dedicated Addiction Medicine Physician to join our integrated primary care and behavioral health team. This provider will play a central role in delivering evidence‑based treatment for substance use disorders (SUD), including Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), within a whole‑person care model. Position Summary The Addiction Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive, patient‑centered evaluation and treatment for individuals with opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders. This role works within a multidisciplinary team-including behavioral health, case management, community health workers, primary care, and nursing-to ensure coordinated, trauma‑informed, recovery‑focused care.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with active Pennsylvania medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Addiction Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, or related specialty
  • DEA registration with authorization for buprenorphine (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with MAT, SUD treatment, or behavioral health integration
  • Commitment to underserved populations and community‑based care

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work in an FQHC or safety‑net setting
  • Experience with trauma‑informed care, harm reduction, or co‑occurring mental health conditions
  • Interest in teaching, team‑based care, or program development
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with substance use disorders
  • Deliver Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and other evidence‑based modalities
  • Conduct follow‑up visits, withdrawal management, and ongoing recovery support
  • Provide compassionate, trauma‑informed care and promote harm reduction practices
  • Collaborate closely with Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and Community Health Workers to integrate medical and psychosocial care
  • Participate in team case reviews, care coordination meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Support ELFHCC's mission to serve all patients with dignity, respect, and comprehensive whole‑person care
