Corewell Health West Michigan, in partnership with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, continues to advance medical education in West Michigan. As our region’s healthcare leader, Corewell Health in West Michigan is committed to preparing the physician of tomorrow to best care for our patients and their families. Corewell Health West Michigan Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking to add an Outpatient Academic Internal Medicine Physician provider dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care to their team. Our Academic Internal Medicine Program is renowned for its commitment to excellence in medical education and patient care. Come join our dynamic team. As an Internal Medicine Physician at Corewell Health West, you will play a crucial role in our residency program, providing comprehensive care to patients and mentoring the next generation of physicians. You will help lead a diverse group of 55 resident physicians (39 Internal Medicine, 16 Medicine-Pediatric Residents) in an outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • BE/BC Family/Internal Medicine
  • PGY4 Chief Resident Year
  • Prior experience in an academic institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of graduate medical education clinical teaching experience
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting.
  • Supervising and teaching residents and medical students.
  • Participating in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development and staying current with medical advancements.
