Physical Therapy Technician PRN (20 hours or less per week) - SERC Harrisonville

About the position

SERC Physical Therapy, a brand partner of Upstream Rehabilitation, is looking for a Physical Therapy Technician to join our team in Harrisonville, MO. Under the direct supervision of a licensed PT/PTA or OT/OTA, the technician will provide limited assistance to therapists with patient activities consistent with the scope of the Missouri Physical Therapy Practice Act. This position is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of SERC Physical & Hand Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide limited assistance to therapists with patient activities consistent with the scope of the Missouri Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Perform laundry tasks including washing, drying, and folding.
• Clean tables in between patient use and stock carts with towels, pillowcases, etc.
• Clean exercise equipment at least once a day and more frequently as warranted.
• Assist with the tidiness of the clinic including emptying trash, vacuuming, and straightening up the waiting room.
• Answer phones and operate the phone system.
• Take referrals and schedule patients, including documenting cancellations, no-shows, and reschedules.
• Take co-pays and patient supply orders.
• Locate supplies for the clinic or for patient purchase.
• Locate charts in the chart drawer and necessary paperwork.
• Make up new charts and use copiers/fax machines.
• Administer initial evaluation paperwork and other tasks as deemed necessary.
• Communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions.
• Assist and prepare patients for treatment with various therapy exercises and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
