About The Position

Rebound is looking to fill a part time Receptionist for our fast-paced Physical Therapy department. The location of this position will be based out of our busy Hood River Physical Therapy location. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills; Ability to work with a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail; Organizational and office skills, including data entry; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Strong attendance history and the ability to work independently is a must.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years' customer service experience, medical experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology desirable.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurances, payers, benefits and contracts preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer directions when needed. Assist patients (i.e. getting the door, wheelchairs, etc.) as needed.
  • Check in patients in a friendly and timely manner. Communicate potential appointment delays.
  • Facilitate information collection as needed through verbal confirmation or use of forms.
  • Confirm insurance and demographic information.
  • Explain financial policies, privacy practices and the differences with contracted vs. noncontracted insurance companies.
  • Promote use of the patient portal.
  • Receipt processing for copays, deductibles, deposits and residual balance payments. Maintain cash drawer protocol at all times.
  • Attends meetings and performs related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean lobby environment.
  • Alert supervisor and/or administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact security as appropriate.
  • If any office location is underutilized or closed, staff from the closed office may be required to travel to another office to cover.
  • Project work as needed to fill downtime.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
