PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE ABILITIES: Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, staff and establish / maintain effective professional relationships. Ability to use effective problem solving/ decision-making by careful observation of patient and recommendation of appropriate treatment changes. Ability to use departmental systems properly to maintain organization effectively including computer scheduling and ordering of supplies as needed, this may include asked supply needs or assess department supply needs without supervision. Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily treatment / exercise room setting PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS: Low level of physical demands including standing, walking, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping. Requires ability to lift, carry and move equipment up to 50 pounds. This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements. The aide's primary function is to perform designated routine tasks related to the operation of the Therapy service and may assist with patient-related activities, which are predetermined for each patient and assigned by the therapist.
