Job Summary Position is for post-graduate training in a structured physical therapy fellowship program under the supervision of a Fellowship Director, Coordinator and other physical therapists. Through the training program, the incumbent assesses patients, develops and initiates treatment plans based on the results of the evaluation. The evaluation may include measurements of neuromuscular and skeletal functions. Provides direct patient care. Documents findings, progress and instruction to patients and caregivers. Documents findings, progress and instruction to patients and caregivers. In addition to clinical practice, the fellow will receive mentoring and didactic training over a 9 to 12 month period. A physical therapist practicing direct access will examine and evaluate a patient's current conditions which may result in identification of movement and mobility dysfunction. A physical therapist practicing direct access will not diagnose an illness or disease. If a medical diagnosis has already been established by a qualified healthcare practitioner, the physical therapist will take it into consideration during the evaluation process.
