This position plays a key role in developing treatment plans, supervising therapy staff, and ensuring high-quality care for residents. We are seeking a Physical Therapy Director to lead and oversee physical therapy services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a related field plus Five years of progressively responsible experience in physical therapy services.
  • Registered as a Physical Therapist in the State of Nebraska is required
  • Principles and practices of physical therapy
  • Human growth and development, including physical disabilities, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities
  • Techniques and equipment used in physical therapy treatment programs
  • Prosthetics and orthopedic devices used in therapy and rehabilitation
  • Prepare diagnostic evaluations and document residents’ responses to therapeutic programs
  • Supervise and guide subordinate staff in treatment programs
  • Therapeutic manipulation techniques

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement goals and policies for the Physical Therapy Department.
  • Supervise physical therapy services, both in therapy rooms and within living units.
  • Oversee evaluations, treatment plans, and re-evaluations for residents.
  • Construct adaptive devices to support resident needs.
  • Provide guidance to professional staff on complex treatment programs.
  • Evaluate staff performance and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Consult with physicians on physical therapy programs for individual residents.
  • Develop and oversee training programs for physical therapy staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review resident care plans.
  • Perform physical therapy treatments as needed.
