About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing day-to-day physical therapy treatments to residents, ensuring compliance with safety and corporate policies, and collaborating with other therapy disciplines. This role involves evaluating resident performance, documenting progress, and maintaining equipment and supplies for the therapy department.

Requirements

• Current Physical Therapy Assistant License.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Awareness of body movements that may occur during routine job performance.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Facility's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Report allegations of resident abuse/neglect to the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Collaborate with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy for treatment planning.
• Responsible for all Physical Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
• Evaluate resident performance and communicate findings to nursing and physicians.
• Document resident's progress and treatments as directed by the Registered Physical Therapist.
• Maintain and inventory all durable medical equipment.
• Order supplies and equipment for the therapy department.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations regarding Rehabilitation Therapy.
• Participate in meetings such as Quality Assurance and Care Planning.
• Responsible for therapy billing, questionnaires, and progress notes.
• Ensure compliance with Resident's Rights and safety regulations.
