About The Position

All clinical duties performed under the direct (Medicare)/indirect supervision of licensed physical therapy or occupational therapy provider. Deliver exercise prescriptions for reconditioning exercises and home exercise programs per therapist plan of care. Maintain proper documentation and assure patients progress according to therapist plan of care and per Physical Therapy Board of California. (Clinical Protocols). Attend and participate in Patient Care Conference with supervising therapists. Perform objective measurements, including but not limited to psychometric, isometric, and functional per therapists' plan of care. Deliver Instruction and education of patient educational programs per the therapist plan of care. Assist in performing MedX testing and treatment sessions or comparable progressive resisted exercise equipment per therapist plan of care. Understand principles of Functional Capacity Evaluations and work conditioning. Provide motivation, education, guidance, and support to patients per the therapist's plan of care. Assist in performing aquatic therapy as necessary per the therapist's plan of care. Defer any clinical information from physicians, nurse practitioners, and insurance companies regarding patients to supervising therapists. Maintain clinic floor. Safety, water, towels, and cleaning. Schedule meetings as needed with the Site Manager to discuss progress and future goals related to the clinic Maintain current knowledge of professional related literature and comply with the California Physical Therapy Board of California. board continuing education requirements. Attend seminars/meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Credentialed PTA educational program.
  • Active and current Physical Therapist Assistant license for the State of California
  • 1+ years in a health care or fitness clinic setting

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in exercise science or related area preferred
  • outpatient orthopedic experience preferred
